This year’s DEKRA labour market report focuses, among other things, on the job market for software developers. They stand almost symbolically for the rapid growth of the digitisation in ever more fields of work.
In order to showcase the results of our examination of the labour market for software developers to the public and in order to debate with representatives of the field, the specialist journal “Computerwoche” invited to a “Business Breakfast” on the 2nd of July 2019.
There, I initially presented the DEKRA labour market report and its findings – findings that highlight the variety of different problems recruiters face when trying to fill vacancies for software developers.

Afterwards, Stefan Scheller, who owns the successful personnel blog www.Persoblogger.de and who, as a consultant, is responsible for personnel marketing and employer branding at DATEV, reported on the daily HR practice in his business. He explained how DATEV has set itself up with regard to modern personnel recruitment and what the software company from Nuremberg is doing to bring coveted IT experts on board.

Finally, Hans Königes, chief editor of the “Computerwoche”, talked about how the salaries of software developers will develop in light of the growing demand.
The fact that companies have developed a sense of urgency concerning the problems with recruiting software developers is of course also highlighted by the great interest in our “Business Breakfast”, which about 50 HR managers attended.
