About the schools‘ lack of digital tools in corona times

When the corona crisis caused lessons to be moved to the digital world, it became very clear very quickly that many educational facilities lacked both the technical infrastructure and the necessary know how. But how are pupils supposed to develop media skills if the institutions are not adequately equipped? In his new video, Wolfgang Reichelt describes the consequences this has had for both pupils and teachers and describes an approach that could be used to improve everyone’s digital skills in the future.

- Wolfgang Reichelt is the managing director of DEKRA Media GmbH, a subsidiary of DEKRA SE, and member of the board of DEKRA Akademie Group. He has been developing CBT (computer-based trainings) since the mid-80s and WBT (web-based trainings) and virtual training environments since the 1990s. He has also developed and done research on online knowledge communities. The results of his research and development work has been documented in numerous studies and other publications.
